ARA

Jordi Duró has been publishing his Graphic Opinion section ever since the Ara newspaper was founded in 2010. Based on current events, he explores the visual resources he acquired throughout his career as a designer and he combines this with the journalistic approach he learned at the School of Communication Sciences of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

About Ara

Ara (meaning “now” in Catalan) was born as something more than a conventional newspaper. It was born as a community of readers connected through paper and computer screens. It is a state-of-the-art newspaper without mental frontiers. At the same time, it aims to be the answer to tough times for journalism, particularly printed media. That is why Ara undertakes with its readers the commitment to recover the values historically found in our country’s journalism: top-notch quality and rigorous ethical standards to ensure the values of our society.

PÚBLICO

From 2009 to 2012, Jordi Duró contributed to the Diario Público, illustrating its “Dominio Público” (Public Domain) section, where experts in different areas wrote opinion articles on current affairs. This collaboration was the starting point of Duró’s printed media assignments, which would afterwards continue into Ara. His illustrations for Público were interrupted when the newspaper turned from print to a single digital platform.
