The year 1936 is the celebration of the Olympic Games in Berlin. But not everyone knows that that same year, Barcelona wanted to celebrate the Popular Olympiad. The newly elected government of the Second Republic decided to boycott the German games, not sending Spanish representatives and organizing an alternative sporting event. The Francoist coup prevented that is to make those alternative games, which had to take six thousand participants to the Catalan capital from July 19 to 26. This event wanted to exalt the peace and brotherhood between peoples and be a denunciation of Nazism. 80 years later, and in the context of the commemoration of the Civil War, the Generalitat of Catalonia wanted to remember those games with the celebration of sports days and an institutional act, of which we made the poster.
