The Fundació Joan Miró has the largest public collection of works by Joan Miró. In 2013 an initiative was proposed to create a bookmark as an advertising element and also a gift for Fundació visitors. The bookmark would be designed by a different artist every year for collection purposes. The first year of the initiative, the Fundació looked to Jordi Duró to create the first bookmark. While studying Joan Miró’s creative process, we realised that he used to draw on bits of paper, transport tickets and any other transitory paper element at hand. This is why we created a bookmark that looks like a torn piece of paper, as if it were an object found in a book belonging to Joan Miró himself.
